Barcelona avoided a shock defeat away UD Barbastro, booking their spot in the next round of the Copa del Rey.
Scorers: Garrido 60′, Serrano (P) 90+2′ ; Fermín 18′, Raphina 51′, Lewandowski (P) 88′
It was one-way traffic in the opening 45 minutes as expected, though Barça struggled to breakdown a resolute low-block from the hosts.
The deadlock was finally broken after nearly 20 minutes however, thanks to a superb team move that was capped off by youngster Fermín López from close-range.
While Raphina doubled Barça’s lead after the break, the visitors were in for a shock when Barbastro cut the lead in half through Adrià de Mesa Garrido, setting the home crowd alight.
Any hopes of a miraculous equaliser appeared to be quelled in the dying minutes however, as Robert Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot after a hand-ball in the box from the hosts.
But Barbastro responded with a penalty of their own thanks to Marc Prat Serrano’s strike from the spot, cutting the lead to one once again.
The comeback would not come to fruition however, as Barça held on to avoid a shock defeat.
