Despite his poor start to life in Barcelona, Vitor Roque has had no shortage of takers in this ongoing summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has received from several top clubs across Europe, with Lazio notably becoming the latest admirer. The Italian giants, in fact, are weighing up a €25 million move for the Barcelona forward this summer.

Barcelona remain calm about Vitor Roque

In the midst of widespread speculation, Barcelona have remained calm and are not rushing into making any decision over Vitor Roque’s future.

This is according to Gianluigi Longari, who suggests Barça are planning to retain Roque as part of the squad, at least for the upcoming pre-season trip to the United States.

It was reported earlier that new coach Hansi Flick will take a closer look at Vitor Roque before making any decision on his future.

Sticking to his promise, the German has given Roque the chance to impress in pre-season. The upcoming tour to the US, in that regard, could prove to be pivotal for the young attacker.

Barcelona, after all, are slated to take on familiar European rivals during their US tour, including arch-rivals Real Madrid and Premier League giants Manchester City.

These matches will serve as an ideal opportunity for Vitor Roque to make a mark, failing which the forward’s future will come under the microscope.

As mentioned earlier, Lazio are already weighing up a move for the former Athletico Paranaense starlet, but other clubs, too, could soon join the race.

Longari adds that Barcelona will make a final call on Roque’s future in the upcoming weeks, most likely after the US tour, which will come to a conclusion after the first week of August.
