Manchester United tried to sign Balde in the summer, and they will now have another chance to bring him to Old Trafford. As per The Daily Briefing, Barcelona have offered them, Liverpool and Chelsea the chance to sign the defender in January, with the decision having been made to cash in on his services now.

Balde sale would be very useful for Barcelona

Given that Balde came through the ranks at La Masia, his sale would be pure profit. This is important for Barcelona, whose FFP situation has been precarious for several years, although it has been getting better of late – and this would continue to be the case if Balde was sold for a significant fee.

Balde did not want to leave Barcelona in the summer, which is one of the reasons why a deal was not possible at that time.
