One such player, who is tipped for a bright future at the club, happens to be Shane Kluivert, the son of Blaugrana legend Patrick Kluivert.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are in talks with Shane Kluivert and his camp over his contract situation.

The talented winger turned 18 years old in September, and his current deal stands to expire at the end of the season.

As such, the Blaugrana have offered the young attacker a three-year contract to tie him down to the club. No decision has been made yet, but talks are ongoing between the two parties.

Kluivert joined La Masia in 2017, arriving from the PSG youth academy. Since then, he has enjoyed a steady rise through the ranks in Catalonia, leading to him making his breakthrough with the reserve team, Barça Atletic, this season.

Capable of playing across the frontline, the 18-year-old has made four appearances for Juliano Belletti’s team so far this term. He has also featured seven times in the UEFA Youth League for the Juvenil A side, even scoring a goal.

Given his potential, Barcelona are eager to renew Kluivert’s contract, and a three-year offer has been put forth by the Catalans.

It is now up to the teenage gem to decide whether he wishes to stay at Barça or take up a new challenge in his career come next summer.
