As Barcelona near the end of the current campaign, the board will look to swing into action and maximise the summer transfer window to boost Hansi Flick’s squad.

New signings, as always, will dominate the headlines and remain the talk of the town. However, it is safe to say that departures are as important, if not more important, than recruiting new names.

Given the season Barcelona have enjoyed, not too many players find themselves on the exit ramp poised for a departure.

Ansu Fati, however, is one of the few players who does find himself nearing an exit.

Close to a move to Ligue 1

Fati has not had much prominence under Hansi Flick despite having the manager’s support and his performances on the field reflect exactly why.

While the player is indeed much better than he has been in recent years, he is still quite far from the level of the competition he faces.

As relayed earlier this week, however, Monaco are seriously interested in signing the star as they look to bolster their squad after securing a UEFA Champions League spot.

Now, Cadena SER reports that Fati is indeed considering the offer from France seriously and will in fact sign for Monaco almost certainly.

The outlet goes on to place the probability of the move at ‘almost 100%’.

The La Masia forward’s decision, needless to say, is not surprising in the least for an offer from Monaco is a great move for his development.

With a solid project, Champions League football and a great coach in Adi Hutter, he will have a chance to rejuvenate his career.

What remains to be negotiated is the manner of the transfer in whether it will be a signing on loan or a permanent transfer. The coming days may well be crucial for an agreement does not seem far away.
