FC Barcelona continue to prepare for their La Liga encounter against Athletic Club. The Catalan club is just recovering some key stars who have been injured for a while, and the likes of Raphinha and Joan Garcia are expected to be back.

A return to the Spotify Camp Nou is going to be a momentous occasion for Barcelona and Hansi Flick. However, the club is likely to make the return without three of their most important players, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong.

The latter is suspended for the game against Athletic Bilbao, while the former two are unlikely to start against the Basque opponents. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have defined a specific recovery plan for the 18-year-old Spaniard.

Lamine underwent invasive radiofrequency treatment to address his pubalgia, in consultation with an expert doctor from Belgium. At the time, it was stated that he would need to rest for seven to ten days and would miss Spain duty.

Yesterday, Lamine took part in a partial training session with the group. The expectation is that he returns to full group training ahead of the game against Athletic Bilbao. If the sensations are good, he could get a few minutes against them.

However, the aim for Lamine is to be ready for the Champions League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. So far, the Belgian doctor is happy with the teenager’s progress after treatment, and the hope is that his discomfort is behind him.

The next few days are likely to provide a clearer picture of whether Lamine Yamal will be involved against Athletic Bilbao. The player is said to be keen on playing at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou, and we will have to wait and see how things play out.
