Barcelona pair handed new jersey numbers | OneFootball

Two members of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona have been afforded new squad numbers for the season ahead.

This comes amid confirmation that both Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny are set to take to the pitch in 2026/27 donning changed jersey numbers.

In the case of the former, Joan, as expected, has taken over ownership of the no.1 shirt in Hansi Flick’s squad. Vacated by Marc-André ter Stegen following the German’s loan move to Ajax, Joan has been aptly rewarded for his stellar debut campaign at the Spotify Camp Nou with a move from ’13’ to ‘1’.

Szczęsny, meanwhile, will continue to act as backup to Joan over the coming weeks and months. The Pole, a dressing room favourite in Catalunya’s capital, has in turn swapped his former ’25’ shirt for the ’13’.

These changes have been confirmed on the Barcelona squad section on La Liga’s official website.
