Barcelona’s pursuit of Joan Garcia has been well documented. The Espanyol goalkeeper has emerged as one of the club’s first major targets heading into the summer transfer window.
Although doubts are creeping in as to whether or not Garcia would consider a move to Barcelona due to his Espanyol association, the Blaugrana remain on the hunt and are keen on acquiring the goalkeeper’s services as soon as possible.
According to Cadena SER, Barcelona have held talks with Joan Garcia over a possible move to Camp Nou this summer.
Most importantly, though, the report suggests Barcelona have a set a plan for Joan Garcia, should they sign the goalkeeper.
The plan is to loan the Spaniard to another club immediately, preferably in the first division. A club such as Valencia could be an option.

That said, Barcelona are still unaware of the Financial Fair Play margins and this could cause problems, as far as the Garcia pursuit is concerned.
It must be noted that even if Barcelona try to loan out Garcia, they must register the goalkeeper in the first-team. But if the FFP margins play a deterrent once again, the club may once again face a similar situation to Dani Olmo.
That said, Barcelona remain determined to sign Joan Garcia as they consider the Spaniard an excellent market opportunity.
Therefore, a lot may depend on the player’s own will. If the goalkeeper decides to join Barcelona, he will be loaned out and become a part of the club’s long-term project.
But for now, Garcia is considering the social impact of a move to Barcelona, especially due to his Espanyol ties.
