FC Barcelona are looking to continue their flawless run in La Liga season, and they now have to face a challenger in the form of Racing Santander. Following their victory over Levante, the Catalan giants will be looking to deliver another strong performance and grab all three points here as well.
However, just like in previous games, La Blaugrana cannot and will likely not grow complacent and underestimate their opponents. For that reason, Hansi Flick will be expected to field a strong eleven for this fixture.
Here is how Barça could line up for this game.
Predicted Barcelona starting XI vs Racing Santander:
Goalkeeper: Joan Garcia
Thanks to his strong performances in recent games, Barcelona have looked defensively sound most of the time. Moreover, his distribution always manages to get the team out of tricky situations as well.
Right-back: Eric Garcia
Despite his recent injury, Eric Garcia is ready to play and start for Barça at this point. He completed the previous game against Levante, and he will be looking to make an impact on this fixture as well.
Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi
The youngster has consistently been Barça’s best defender in recent games, and he will be looking to continue this great form of his. With him at the back, Barça is always more fluid in possession and much more secure defensively.
Centre-back: Andreas Christensen
With Gerard Martin’s starting position in this game being uncertain, it would be safe to assume Andreas Christensen is a reliable alternative. However, he will need to be sharper than he has been in recent outings.
Left-back: Xavi Espart
Despite his young age, Xavi Espart continues to impress with his maturity and understanding of the game. While there are definitely things that he can improve, the young Spaniard has all the qualities needed to succeed in this team.
CDM: Rodri
The Spanish veteran has a lot of experience under his belt and he knows exactly what it takes to win a league title. In this game, his experience and maturity could surely come in handy if he ends up starting.
CDM: Pedri
Always a key player in the midfield, Pedri will want to deliver a much better performance in this game as compared to his previous one against Levante. Fortunately, he has the talent and quality to make that kind of recovery in this game.
RAM: Lamine Yamal
With all doubts about him now fading away, Lamine Yamal is back to his best and he continues to deliver masterclass after masterclass. If he manages to continue playing like this, Barcelona are going to be enjoying a lot more victories.
The Spanish midfielder provides composure and calm amidst the chaos around him, and that is the kind of profile Barcelona will need if they opt to field an explosive front three up top. Moreover, he has an eye for goal himself as well.
LAM: Karim Adeyemi
Considering his impressive cameos recently, Karim Adeyemi deserves to get a start in this game. His pace and intensity on that wing opens up a whole new avenue for Barça to exploit against opponents, and his finishing has been impressive recently.
Still at the top of his game, Raphinha is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Competing for the top-scorer title in La Liga right now, the Brazilian forward will be looking to continue his fine form.
