FC Barcelona are now set to face off against Girona in La Liga. The team’s first match following the international break, and it promises to be a tough one at the Montjuic Stadium.

However, Hansi Flick’s side has a lot of injuries to deal with, and that will likely force the German coach to make some notable changes and rotations. Here is how Barça could line up for this league clash.

Predicted Barcelona Line-up vs Girona

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

With Joan Garcia still sidelined, Wojciech Szczesny is the automatic pick in between the sticks.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

Some shaky performances recently have not been ideal for Jules Kounde, but the Frenchman has the quality to bounce back and find his best version again.

Centre-back: Eric Garcia

While Ronald Araujo might provide more aggressiveness and physicality, Eric Garcia has proven time and time again that he can be a real difference maker for this team in build-up.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

Still arguably the team’s best ball-playing defender, Pau Cubarsi is simply crucial in terms of building up play from the backline.

Left-back: Alejandro Balde

With the Spaniard likely having rested enough by now, he should be fit to start, and Barcelona could really use his dynamism on the left flank.

Considering the team’s injury crisis, Hansi Flick might have to shift his players here and there. For that reason, and also because of his proven quality, Marc Casado seems like a likely choice to start this game at the base of the midfield.

Having just recently renewed his contract, Frenkie de Jong’s morale should be high. Moreover, he has the quality to be a true game-changer for Barça, and Flick will likely count on him for this game.

RAM: Roony Bardghji

Even though Lamine Yamal should be fit enough to start this game potentially, it does not seem likely that Flick will take that risk. Instead, Roony Bardghji looks more likely to start.

If Flick decides to deploy Casado and De Jong deeper in midfield, Pedri should be available to start as the attacking midfielder. While it is not his best position, Dani Olmo’s injury might force Flick to make such a change.

LAM: Fermin Lopez

Reportedly having recovered well, Fermin Lopez might end up starting this game on the left side of the attack to compensate for the team’s current injuries.

With both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres sidelined, Marcus Rashford seems to be the likely alternative to lead the attack. Fortunately, the €40 million-rated English forward has been in good enough form for Flick and the team to be confident in his abilities.
