The ongoing summer transfer window appears too good to be true for Barcelona for the administration appear to be targeting exactly the parts of the squad that appear to be the weak links in the setup.

Having addressed the goalkeeping situation which appeared to be untouchable ahead of the window, they have now made serious attempts to reinforce the left flank which has lacked depth for the Catalans in recent times.

Their pursuit of Nico Williams only adds weight to the argument that fans’ demands are being heard by the administration in charge.

Barcelona ready to go all out, Flick a fan

Nico Williams has been a fan-favourite transfer target for a while now, especially given his special bond with Barcelona players like Lamine Yamal and Pedri.

As relayed by Achraf Ben Ayad, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been a fan of the Athletic Club winger for a long time now. The sporting management, moreover, sees him to be a member who can add serious value to the dressing room.

As such, Barça are prepared to make all efforts to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club this summer.

The report further adds that Hansi Flick himself is excited to have Williams in the team and that he has a clear place for him in his plans.

The dressing room, moreover, will welcome the player with a grand reception for he has a great relationship with several members of the Blaugrana dressing room.

At this point, it is clear that Barcelona will do everything in their capacity to sign Williams and that all that remains is to ensure the club has sufficient financial leverage to clear his release clause. The player, after all, is desperate to join Barcelona.

Should Williams sign for the Catalan giants, he could likely take over as the club’s default left-winger with Raphinha shifting to a central role.

While Flick will indeed face a dilemma in accommodating all the players, it is a great problem from the manager’s perspective.
