The option of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for Barcelona appears to be taking shape. As reported earlier in the week, the Catalans have made contact with his entourage to explore the possibility of a switch from Napoli in the summer.

It was even suggested that Kvaratskhelia would be ‘delighted’ with the idea of moving to Barcelona as he would be challenging for major honours consistently.

Building on that, La Repubblica (h/t SPORT) reports that Barcelona are already preparing a final offensive to advance his signing for the summer.

It is claimed that The final price of the operation could reach €80 million – his release clause is higher but his contract ends in 2027 – and for now, the player’s agents are rejecting renewal to force the situation.

Sources in Italy confirm that Kvaratskhelia prefers Barcelona to PSG because he believes he could win important titles there.

The 23-year-old’s entourage is clear about Barcelona’s interest and that this time they see a favourable situation to leave the club with contract negotiations with the Serie A club not progressing.

Indeed, the positions between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia are far apart. The player earns €1.5 million net, but initially demanded €6 million per season, a figure that Napoli would only reach in a long-term contract with a €150 million release clause.

Faced with this position, the Georgian star’s entourage requested a release clause of only €80 million, which is the price they believe the footballer could leave for this summer.

Kvaratskhelia, for his part, believes he could stagnate at Napoli sportingly and understands that at 23 years old, the opportunity for a big move has arrived. His priority would be to play in La Liga and he is aware of Barcelona’s interest since last year.
