According to an update shared by SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona president Joan Laporta will be present at the gala dinner before the General Assembly of the European Club Association (ECA).
Interestingly, it is said that Laporta received a personal invitation from Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who also leads the ECA.
Laporta’s decision to attend marks another clear step in Barcelona’s attempt to reconnect with the European football family, which is the UEFA.
For months, Barça have been working towards restoring strong ties with UEFA and the ECA, two organisations the club had distanced itself from when backing the Super League project.
By showing up at this important event, Laporta signals that the Catalan giants are ready to rebuild trust and once again become an active part of European football’s main institutions.
Although Barcelona have not officially withdrawn from the Super League idea promoted by Florentino Perez, the latest actions from Laporta suggest the club may be ready to turn the page.

Recent efforts have been directed at creating open dialogue between UEFA and Barcelona, a move that is seen as a way of closing the chapter on the controversial competition.
This is not only about repairing broken relationships, but also about securing the club’s long-term place in the structures that govern European football.
By engaging with UEFA and the ECA, Barcelona are working to normalise their standing within continental forums of power, ensuring that the club is no longer isolated from the main decision-making tables.
Laporta’s attendance at the gala is a symbolic but powerful gesture. It shows the club’s willingness to regain harmony with international football bodies, while leaving behind the turmoil that followed their involvement in the Super League.
For the club, this could be the beginning of a new chapter, one that strengthens their influence in Europe while protecting their future both on and off the pitch.
