The board at La Liga champions Barcelona have early this week been targeted in harsh fashion, over their ongoing treatment of Marc-André ter Stegen.
This comes amid claims that the Blaugrana are essentially ‘bullying’ the German, to force him out of the club.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is of course widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out.
No longer considered first-choice between the posts in Catalunya’s capital, a new home is being sought for the German for the 2025/26 campaign.
Amid something of a tense situation between club and player, a series of reports have in turn surfaced in the media over the last couple of weeks, in which Ter Stegen has been made to look somewhat unprofessional.
And one individual in no doubt that as much is a tactic on the part of Barcelona to force the 33-year-old out is Víctor Font.
Speaking during an interview with Catalunya Radio, as cited by Diario AS, on Monday, Blaugrana presidential candidate Font aimed a fresh swipe at Joan Laporta and his board:
“I think it’s fine that they’re finding a replacement for him, but it’s reprehensible that he has to find out everything through the press because no one from the club has told him anything. He’s being bullied. The same thing they did with Xavi. They renewed his contract and two days later didn’t even answer the phone.”
