After returning with pubic discomfort from the international break, Barcelona rising superstar Lamine Yamal missed last weekend’s La Liga game against Valencia.
The 18-year-old prodigy was also left out of the squad list for tonight’s game against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, with the youngster staying back in Barcelona, working on his recovery.
According to Carlos Monfort of SPORT, Lamine Yamal has stepped up his recovery programme, spending the entire morning at the club’s training base as he works to return as soon as possible.
Yamal arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva for specific gym work at around 11:00 this morning. He remained inside for nearly four hours, a marathon session considering that recovery exercises are normally shorter and simpler.

The youngster from Rocafonda worked closely with the physiotherapists who stayed in Barcelona, as well as Thiago Alcântara, who is back in Hansi Flick’s staff but not travelling with the squad, with the aim of accelerating his return.
The extended effort highlights the La Masia wonderkid’s determination to help the team again as soon as possible.
As per the report, the intention is to have Lamine available for the La Liga clash against Real Oviedo on 25 September, although his presence is not guaranteed.
The coaching staff hopes that the Ballon d’Or candidate will be 100% ready in time to face PSG on 1 October.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Balde and Gavi also continued to work on their recovery from injury, with the latter’s case one to keep an eye on as Barcelona will make a decision on whether he continues with conservative management or undergoes surgery soon.
