FC Barcelona will return home later today after spending the night at their hotel in England following the Champions League win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Before travelling, the team trained at the Whitley Park facilities, going through a recovery session with their eyes on Sunday’s La Liga clash vs Getafe.
Once the session concluded, a bus transported the group directly to the airport, where their flight was scheduled to land at El Prat around 5 p.m.
And, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona defensive prodigy Pau Cubarsi trained separately from the rest of the squad after picking up a knock in the win over Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old centre-half put in a brilliant display for the 70 minutes he was on the pitch, before he had to be taken off due to discomfort in his left knee.

Cubarsi was seen clutching the area during the first half, visibly feeling some pain, but he carried on. After the break, he rejoined the pitch later than his teammates as the physios applied strapping to the joint.
Around the 70th minute, however, Hansi Flick replaced him with Andreas Christensen, following which, the youngster had ice applied to the knee while on the bench and his leg elevated.
As such, he worked away from the rest of the group during today’s light recovery session in Newcastle before Barcelona set off on their trip.
Ronald Araujo also suffered from cramps during the game, while Barcelona are also exercising caution with Frenkie de Jong after he returned from an injury.
As things stand, though, there is no cause for alarm, as such physical issues are typical after demanding matches such as the one at Newcastle.
