Hansi Flick begins his second season at Barcelona in just over ten days, and as always, the most exciting aspect of the pre-season campaign is the stage it provides for young academy talents.
La Masia has been enjoying a stunning resurgence in recent years and has been producing great talents with ridiculous consistency.
Every year, a couple of young names make a strong case to be part of the first team and the same is expected this time around.
Flick is expected to call up as many as eight talents to join him in the pre-season tour in the United States.
Landry Farre, Jofre Torrents, Jan Virgili, Dro, Juan Hernandez, Ibrahim Diarra, Toni Fernandez and Guille Fernandez are all expected to be called up, but one surprising player who has not been included is Quim Junyent as relayed by SPORT.
Junyent has consistently been one of the academy’s best players across categories in recent years and was even part of Flick’s pre-season campaign in 2024.

He even reached the Joan Gamper Trophy match last year and had minutes at the fag end of the game replacing Marc Bernal.
After a good pre-season, he followed up with a promising campaign for Juvenil A under Juliano Belletti and was one of their best players over the course of the year.
Junyent was called up to represent Spain’s U-19 team for the U19 Euros and even played a key role in their semifinal win over Germany.
The youngster, however, has not yet received a call from the coaching staff that he is part of Flick’s squad for pre-season.
The midfielder is currently on vacation after the U19 Euros, and as it stands, will not join his peers with the first team on July 13th. There is still hope, however, and the player will hope for a last-minute call-up for the tour.
