According to Mundo Deportivo, Borussia Dortmund have taken a keen interest in Barcelona loanee Alex Valle following his encouraging performances on loan at both Celtic and Como.
The young left-back, currently under contract with Barça until 2026, is quietly making waves in Europe, and clubs are starting to notice.
However, it must be noted that of the three Barcelona players out on loan for the 2024–25 season, Valle is reportedly the only one with a realistic chance of being reintegrated into the first team.
That said, a return is far from guaranteed. The club is actively monitoring his progress, and the reports from both Scotland and Italy have been overwhelmingly positive.
Valle initially impressed manager Hansi Flick in pre-season, notably being tested on the right side of defence. However, Flick ultimately opted to give Gerard Martin the nod at left-back, prompting Valle to seek opportunities elsewhere.
His loan to Celtic allowed him to gain valuable experience, including a Champions League debut.

But it was Cesc Fabregas who truly influenced his trajectory—convinced by Valle’s potential, he pushed for his move to Como during the January window. Since joining the Serie A outfit, Valle has continued to grow.
It is to be remembered that Barça retained a €6 million release clause in his contract, but with interest rising, particularly from Borussia Dortmund, the Catalan club are now willing to negotiate if a bid in the region of €8 million arrives.
As such, Valle’s future at Barcelona appears blocked. Alejandro Balde is firmly established as the club’s long-term first-choice left-back, and the recent renewal of Martin’s contract only reinforces that stance.
While Valle’s versatility and development are appreciated, Barça’s defensive plans seem increasingly settled.
For now, Dortmund’s interest remains informal and although there is no official bid on the table, Valle could soon find himself at the centre of a summer tug-of-war.
Whether he returns to Barcelona or moves on, one thing is clear: Alex Valle’s stock is on the rise.
