FC Barcelona are trying to complete one important exit before 30 June, and Ansu Fati remains the clearest candidate to bring immediate financial relief.
The club are not in a desperate position, but a sale before the end of the financial year would help improve accounts that are already expected to show a profit. For Barca, every extra margin still matters.
According to AS, Monaco have long decided to activate their €11 million purchase option after Ansu’s loan spell last season. The agreement now depends on final details between the player and the French club.
Ansu is close to signing a four-year contract with Monaco, and Barcelona hope the operation can become official in time to include the income in this financial year.
The deal would help Barca in two ways. First, the club would receive €11 million. Second, they would remove Ansu’s high salary from the wage bill, which would be useful for La Liga fair play.
It is a painful ending because Ansu once looked like the great symbol of the post-Messi future. However, football moves quickly, and Barcelona cannot build their planning around sentiment alone.
Ter Stegen’s possible loan to Ajax is another file the club want to advance. The Dutch side are expected to cover part of his salary, offering more than Girona did, which would also create some wage-space relief.
Barca have already sold Inaki Pena to Panathinaikos for €3 million. They will also receive training compensation from Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid and a smaller amount from Sergi Altimira’s transfer to Sporting Club.
Other exits, including Roony Bardghji and Marc Casado, may take longer. The priority now is Ansu, because his case is the closest to completion.
For Barcelona, this is the unglamorous side of squad building. Selling well, saving salary, and closing deals at the right accounting moment can shape what Deco is able to do later in the market.
