The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have found an agreement on the terms of a contract with a leading member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Joan García as the player in question.

Shot-stopper Joan’s name has emerged as a prominent one in the headlines at Barcelona over recent days.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that Deco and the Blaugrana brass have earmarked the 24-year-old as a leading summer transfer target.

Joan, for his part, is fresh off a spectacular season between the posts at Espanyol, giving rise to interest in his services from across the continent.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, Barca appear to have positioned themselves at the front of the queue for the Spaniard’s signature.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Barcelona’s offer has been on the table for some time, with very clear conditions. There is an agreement in principle with the goalkeeper’s agents, who will logically have the final say in choosing where to take a qualitative leap in his career.’

The offer on the table for Joan at the Camp Nou is understood to feature a contract running through the summer of 2030.

A final answer on his future is expected between this coming Friday and next Monday.
