While efforts continue to be made to sign Nico Williams, FC Barcelona are simultaneously working on other deals as well, as they intend to strengthen their squad before the new season.

Pau Victor of Girona was one such player who had been very much on the club’s agenda after spending the last season on loan with Barça Atletic.

Agreement reached

Now, journalist Nil Sola has come forth with a major update on the deal, stating that Barcelona and Girona have reached a total agreement over the transfer of Pau Victor.

Indeed, everything appears set for the 22-year-old forward to return to Barcelona, this time as part of the first-team dynamics, in a deal that will be just over €3 million.

It must be remembered that Barcelona had a clause that would have allowed them to sign Victor permanently for a fee of €3 million. But the club failed to activate it before it expired in April.

However, the Blaugrana had been in talks to bring him back permanently and that is now very much on the horizon.

The 22-year-old Spaniard scored 20 goals and set up six more for Barça Atletic last season, taking them to the brink of promotion to La Liga 2, only for the team to stumble at the final hurdle.

However, as mentioned earlier, Victor, once he returns, is expected to be a part of the first-team dynamics instead of the reserve team.

With Vitor Roque’s future uncertain and Marc Guiu having already left, Victor could be an option to provide backup for Robert Lewandowski in the No. 9 position.
