Barcelona & Real Madrid stars face off for La Liga award | OneFootball

Leading members of the attacking ranks at both Barcelona and Real Madrid have been nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month award for September.

The former’s representative should come as little surprise, in the form of Raphinha.

Frontman Raphinha, from his new role as Barcelona’s central striker, continued to light up the Spanish football landscape this past month. After netting hat-tricks in each of his last two league appearances, the Brazilian took his tally for September to a staggering nine direct goal contributions in four La Liga outings.

Also in the running for the prize, meanwhile, is the leading source of goals at Real Madrid, in the form of Kylian Mbappé.

The Frenchman did not manage to find the net with the same frequency as Raphinha this month, but nevertheless racked up three goals and two assists in four appearances.

Elsewhere, Atlético Madrid summer signing Jonathan David is rewarded for goals in each of his last three appearances, with Rayo Vallecano striker Sergio Camello and Elche’s Fer Niño rounding out the shortlist for La Liga’s Player of the Month:
