Leading figures from Barcelona and Real Madrid have bagged high-profile individual awards, for their respective efforts across the length of the La Liga campaign.

This of course comes fresh off the curtain being drawn on another season in Spain’s top-flight.

Champions Barcelona closed out the term with a defeat at the hands of Valencia, downed by three goals to one at Mestalla.

But this result had no impact on Blaugrana star Joan Garcia securing the Zamora trophy, following a standout first 12 months plying his trade in Catalunya’s capital.

The Zamora is handed to the standout goalkeeper over the course of the La Liga campaign.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Real Madrid finished out a disappointing year all told with a 4-2 victory over Athletic Club in Spain’s capital.

En route to as much, star frontman Kylian Mbappé bagged his 25th goal of the league season, the most of any player in the division.

The Frenchman has therefore beaten out the competition to the Pichichi prize for the 2nd year in succession.
