Star performers from Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have on Sunday moved to showcase their support for Athletic Club star Nico Williams.
As much, of course, comes fresh off a difficult night for Williams on Saturday.
After making the trip to the Wanda Metropolitano for a crucial La Liga showdown with Atlético Madrid, the 21-year-old late in the first-half asked for proceedings to be brought to a halt.
This came with Williams having been on the receiving end of alleged racist abuse from the stands in Spain’s capital.
The gifted winger did soon get his own personal piece of payback, in celebrating in front of the very same stand after finding the net for Athletic.
But a dark cloud nevertheless hung over the fixture, on what came as another concerning day for Spanish football as a whole.
Messages of support have since poured in for Williams, with Atlético Madrid captain Koke having been quick to throw his backing behind his fellow countryman on the back of the full-time whistle at the Metropolitano.
And, as alluded to above, joining Koke in as much across the day to date have been headline members of the respective squads at Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

And similar messages of support were soon forthcoming from both Vinícius Jr, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
