FC Barcelona still have some plans before the start of the new season. First, the club plans to take part in a preseason tour based in Asia. After that, Barcelona will look to hold the Joan Gamper trophy as well as they traditionally do before the start of the season.
However, the club is also well aware of the financial implications of all these decisions. After all, the club is still not under the 1:1 rule despite previous reports suggesting that the club would have been there by now. Thus, every operation has to go according to plan.

Unfortunately, despite the importance of holding the Joan Gamper trophy at the new Spotify Camp Nou, some complications arose. As per a recent report, the club’s ideal attendance is 60,000 fans for the match is no longer realistic and there was a chance that the match might not even be played at the stadium.
However, the latest update on the matter suggests some good news for Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, there is now a much more realistic possibility that Barça might just be able to hold the game at the Camp Nou and could even have a decent attendance there.
This has been made possible due to the recent green light that was given by the Barcelona City Council’s Approvals Committee in regards to the combined Activities and Works License for the club. Thanks to this approval, Barça now just has to wait for the First Occupancy License to be issued by the City Council.
At the moment, it is expected that the license in question will also be issued by the end of July once the necessary works for hosting the match can be wrapped up. Once that approval arrives, Barcelona will finally have just enough time to host the Joan Gamper trophy at the Spotify Camp Nou, marking the return to that iconic stadium.
However, this still would not let Barça reach that ideal figure of 60,000 fans just yet. Still, the report states that the available capacity will realistically hover around the 25,000 to 35,000 range. One of either the North or South Ends of the stadium will also likely be closed off completely for the game if the plan works out.
As for the rest of the work being done on the stadium, that will continue even as the season kicks off. After all, the first official La Liga game back at the stadium will take place in September, and that should give Barcelona just enough time to prepare the stadium a bit more by then.
