Barcelona respond to fresh links with Juventus star | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have moved to distance themselves from speculation linking the club with a summer move for Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso.

This comes fresh off a new round of rumours, labelling the Blaugrana as a potential landing spot for the Italian over the weeks ahead.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at left-back at the Camp Nou, Cambiaso has long been tipped as a potential arrival. The former Genoa talent is valued for his technical abilities and versatility, capable of lining out on either the right or left flank.

Word stemming from Italy this week therefore pointed towards a potential incoming bid for Cambiaso on the part of Barcelona.

As alluded to above, however, any such offer has since been labelled as highly unlikely.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Cambiaso is not currently being considered as a potential reinforcement for Barcelona’s defence, with a contract until 2029 and a release clause of around €50 million.’

The intention of Deco and co, it is added, is to make the signing of João Cancelo permanent.
