Barcelona are once again showing serious interest in Mallorca’s rising star Marc Domenech, as reported by SPORT.

The young striker, already making waves with his performances, could cost the Catalan giants around €4 million if they choose to move now.

However, that fee is likely to rise in the near future, putting pressure on Barça to act quickly.

Domenech’s stock is rising

It must be noted that Barcelona had already made an attempt to sign Domenech last summer. At the time, Mallorca were asking for €1.5 million, but the deal did not go through despite Barça offering over half a million plus bonuses.

That hesitation might cost them now. The 18-year-old has continued to develop, showing real promise both physically and in front of goal. He has even earned minutes with Mallorca’s senior team, proving that he’s ready for the next step.

Adding to the mix is a recent change in representation. Domenech has signed with renowned agent Pini Zahavi, who already has strong ties to Barcelona.

Zahavi represents big names like Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick, which could make negotiations smoother for the Catalans, but only if they act fast.

Clause is negotiable, but just for now

Right now, Domenech’s release clause stands at €4 million, and while it is reportedly negotiable, that won’t last forever.

His current contract is structured progressively: he earns just €33,000 per year as a youth player, but if he reaches the third year of his five-year deal, he will be upgraded to a professional contract.

That will include a big raise to €300,000 per year and a significant hike in his release clause — taking it up to €10 million. That gives Barcelona a small window to move for the striker without overpaying.

Known as one of the brightest young talents in the Mallorca academy, Domenech has all the attributes Barça are looking for, but whether the Blaugrana make a move for him or not remains to be seen.
