Paris Saint-Germain finally won the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history after a strong and confident performance against Inter Milan in the final.
For years, PSG had come close but never managed to go all the way. After so many tearful nights in Europe, they can now celebrate the biggest success in their history.
The man behind this special moment is Luis Enrique, as the former Barcelona manager guided his team with calm and class throughout the season.
With this win, he celebrates a second career treble, having done the same in the past with Barcelona.
Clubs and players across Europe have been quick to react to PSG’s big night. Many shared congratulatory messages, including Kylian Mbappe, recognising the quality and strength shown by the French champions this season.
Among the first to congratulate PSG was FC Barcelona. The Spanish club shared a short but respectful message on their official ‘X’ account:
“FC Barcelona congratulates PSG as champions of the 2024/25 Champions League.”
This type of message is part of the club’s usual approach, where they always honour the winners of the competitions they take part in.
Interestingly, Barcelona were also strong contenders for the Champions League this season. They were close to making it to the final in Munich but were knocked out by Inter Milan in a memorable semi-final.
It was a tough loss for Barça fans, especially since their team had played some of their best football in recent years.
While the dream ended for Barça in the semis, PSG went on to grab the glory. Now, with the trophy finally in their cabinet, the Parisian club has written a golden page in their history.
