Barcelona have taken a small but important financial step forward ahead of the summer transfer window, with Italian club Como set to complete the permanent signing of left-back Alex Valle, reports AS.
The defender, who had been on loan at Como since January, has impressed enough for the Serie A side to trigger his €6 million buyout clause.
This move comes after Valle began to slip out of Barcelona’s first-team plans last summer. Hansi Flick opted to go with Gerard Martin as Alejandro Balde’s backup at left-back, which pushed Valle further down the pecking order.
As a result, he was loaned out to Celtic. Despite a decent spell in Scotland, he did not manage to fully convince the coaching staff, leading to a mid-season switch to Como 1907, now coached by Barça legend Cesc Fabregas.

While his time at Celtic was average, Valle seems to have found his rhythm in Italy. Cesc Fabregas has seen enough quality in the young defender to request that the club make the move permanent.
The deal is nearly finalised, with just a few small details to sort out between the two clubs. Once completed, Barcelona will receive €4 million this summer, followed by another €2 million in 2026.
The 21-year-old had other offers on the table but chose to remain with Como. His decision was heavily influenced by the club’s strong campaign in Serie A and the clear trust shown by Fabregas.
For Barcelona, the sale of Valle not only generates income but also slightly eases the wage bill as they prepare for a crucial transfer window.
While he may not have broken into the first team, this transfer benefits all parties and shows how La Masia products continue to find success across Europe.
