FC Barcelona remain fully invested in acquiring a starting striker for the upcoming season. However, with the La Liga campaign set to kick off shortly, the Catalan giants will need to accelerate their efforts if they truly wish to bring in a new major signing before the end of the transfer window.

While the likes of Rodri and Joao Cancelo have already been signed, one key piece of the puzzle remains that the club still has to resolve. With both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres no longer at the club, Hansi Flick’s team is in dire need of a new star to lead the attacking trident up top.

According to El Chiringuito, the chosen player seems to be none other than Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez. In fact, the source claims that Barça is willing to go all out for the player in the final days of the window and that Inter is expected to negotiate as well.

Several meetings with the player’s entourage and some initial first steps have been taken with the club as well as per the recent update. Moreover, it is also being claimed that Barcelona could try to start things off with an offer under €100 million for the player once personal terms are properly agreed.

With it being clear enough that the Julian Alvarez situation seems to be a lost cause due to Atletico Madrid’s stubbornness in terms of negotiating with Barça, it would appear now that the Catalan giants are addressing their other alternatives. Even recently, the club was being linked to a certain Arsenal striker.
