FC Barcelona are looking to wrap up any pending operations in these final hours of the summer transfer window. With only a few hours left before the window closes, there is not much left to do. However, another exit has now been finalised it seems.
As confirmed by Matteo Moretto recently, 19-year-old Spanish defender Hector Fort is set to leave on a loan move from Barça to Elche. The young defender will leave on a temporary loan, and he is expected to return next season.
Moreover, no buy option has been included in the deal. It would appear that the Catalan club maintains some level of confidence in the player’s ability and utility for the future.

Still, this move makes sense for all parties involved. Fort definitely does not seem to be in Hansi Flick’s plans for next season, and his opportunities would undoubtedly have been limited with Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia ahead of him. As for the Catalan club, it was reported previously that the plan was to loan him out.
Instead, he now joins Elche for better opportunities and more minutes. Interestingly, he is not the only Barça player to depart for the same team this summer. Previously, Inaki Pena also left to join Elche during this transfer window.
