FC Barcelona are always alert to talent coming through in Brazilian football and keep a close eye on their progression.
One such young prospect that had caught the Blaugrana’s attention happened to be Rayan of Vasco da Gama.
Just 19 years old, the winger had not only attracted interest from Barcelona, but some other European giants coming into 2026.
However, according to SPORT, Rayan appears to be on his way to the Premier League, where he has reached a salary agreement with AFC Bournemouth.
The 19-year-old winger, who can also play as a number nine, has long been an aspiration of Deco. He had already recommended his signing even before becoming the Barcelona sporting director.
Deco has continued to monitor Rayan’s development from a distance. Meanwhile, FC Porto have him on their list, and Bayern Munich have also shown interest.

However, the player has reached a salary agreement with AFC Bournemouth and has asked his current club to negotiate a transfer.
The Premier League side, who have not yet submitted a formal bid, are prepared to go as high as €35 million. This figure would meet the financial expectations of Vasco da Gama, who have been dealing with significant economic difficulties for several years.
Barcelona, who maintain direct contact with Rayan’s agents, have been fully aware of all the movements surrounding him. There is a very good personal relationship between Deco and the player’s professional entourage.
The decision taken at the Ciutat Esportiva has been not to enter the race, as the club believes it makes little sense to advance an operation now.
So, unless there is a change of course in the coming hours, everything now points to Rayan arriving in the Premier League this month.
