Barcelona set to send appeal to La Liga ahead of El Clásico | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona intend to send a formal appeal the way of La Liga this coming week.

That’s according to RAC1, who point towards Hansi Flick’s latest red card as the reason behind as much.

German tactician Flick was for his part given his marching orders earlier today.

This came en route to Barcelona securing a much-needed return to winning ways at the expense of Catalan rivals Girona.

Late in proceedings, with his side still locked at 1-1, Flick was first shown a yellow card for applauding in protest to a refereeing decision, before making a further gesture of disapproval, culminating in a 2nd booking and ensuing red.

Evidently, though, those in a position of power at Barcelona are of the opinion that the club’s headmaster was hard done by…

This comes amid confirmation on the part of RAC1 that:

‘Barça will present an appeal against the expulsion for a double yellow card to try to ensure that Hansi Flick can sit on the bench for El Clásico.’
