Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has admitted that he understands why manager Hansi Flick was left unhappy with his players on the back of the club’s meeting with RCD Mallorca.

Barcelona are of course fresh off getting the defence of their La Liga title up and running in altogether positive fashion.

After making the trip to Son Moix for a meeting with the aforementioned Mallorca, the Blaugrana cruised to an eventual 3-0 triumph.

As much came after the evening’s hosts were reduced to nine men inside the opening 45 minutes.

Despite the one-sided nature of the eventual result, one individual who was left less than happy with the nature of Barcelona’s performance on Saturday was manager Hansi Flick.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in Mallorca, the German admitted:

“I am not happy with the way we played the 2nd-half. My team played at 50% to 60%, and this is not acceptable against nine men. I need to speak to the players.”

And fully understanding of such frustration, as alluded to above, was Blaugrana defender Ronald Araújo.

During his own post-match interview at Son Moix, Araújo explained:

“I can see why Flick is angry. The truth is that we lowered our intensity and kept safe possession after the 2-0. Perhaps the coach wants us to be more aggressive, and he’s right.”
