Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has admitted that he was left hugely frustrated on the back of his substitution against Deportivo Alavés at the weekend.

Wide-man Lamine, for his part, turned heads on Sunday evening.

Hauled off midway through the 2nd-half of Barcelona’s La Liga downing of the aforementioned Alavés, the 17-year-old was spotted looking close to inconsolable on the bench.

As much gave rise to suggestions that the 17-year-old may have been angered with the decision of manager Flick to withdraw him from the action so early.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, however, Lamine revealed that this was in fact far from the case.

Drawn on the subject whilst on international duty with Spain, the explosive wide-man admitted that he was frustrated with himself, owing to the level of his display at Mendizorroza:

“I was angry after the match vs Alavés because of my performance. I could have done better. Flick asked me if I was mad because of the substitution, but no, it was because I couldn’t help the team like I wanted to.”
