Barcelona star confirms he rejected Arsenal & Chelsea | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has revealed that he rebuffed offers from two of English football’s leading clubs, to link up with the Blaugrana.

Wide-man Raphinha is of course in the midst of another altogether productive campaign in Catalunya’s capital.

Despite being hampered by a number of injury problems, the Brazilian has racked up 33 appearances in all competitions.

And across these outings, Raphinha has managed an impressive 29 direct goal contributions.

These exploits have proven key to Barcelona maintaining their status as Spanish champions, with back-to-back Super Cup titles also in the bag.

As alluded to above, though, had things played out a little differently, then such contributions could well have come in the colours of either Arsenal, or Chelsea…

Speaking during an exchange with the media this week, Raphinha admitted that he chose Barcelona over a move to either north or west London, upon departing Leeds United back in 2022:

“I had offers from a Blue team and also a Red team from London… but the best decision of my career was signing for Barcelona.”
