Barcelona star credits teammate with keeping the Blaugrana ‘in the game’ vs Alavés | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has moved to praise teammate Joan García for his exploits in the club’s latest outing.

This comes after the goalkeeper proved himself a key figure in the Blaugrana securing a return to winning ways.

Hansi Flick’s troops were of course back in action on Saturday evening, welcoming Deportivo Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Barcelona emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result.

Their eventual triumph, however, did not come without its hiccups along the way. In fact, the aforementioned Joan was forced into more than one top-class save over the course of the 90 minutes.

And as alluded to above, one player on whom the significance of as much was not at all lost is Raphinha.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the full-time whistle at the Spotify Camp Nou, winger Raphinha – who returned to starting duties against Alavés – explained:

“Joan García’s save helped us stay in the game!”
