Barcelona star expected to return to bench for upcoming games | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is unlikely to continue in a starting role, after the club’s meeting with Levante.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.

Youngster Casadó was for his part thrown into a surprise starting berth on Saturday, as Barcelona made the trip to Valencia to face newly-promoted Levante.

As much came with Frenkie de Jong absent following the birth of his 2nd child.

Casadó, however, struggled in efforts to make the spot alongside Pedri his own.

In fact, with Barcelona in a surprise two-goal hole at half-time, the 21-year-old was hooked from proceedings, replaced by the more effective Gavi.

With the Blaugrana having subsequently gone on to mount a historic 2nd-half comeback, it should in turn not come as a great surprise to hear of Casadó preparing for a return to the bench.

As per a report from Marca:

‘It remains to be seen whether Casadó will be able to continue [as a starter], but it doesn’t seem likely.’
