Barcelona star Wojciech Szczęsny has this week spoken out on his future with the club.
This of course comes fresh off the Pole securing the third title of his Blaugrana stint to date.
Barcelona marked their return to action on Thursday night, making the short trip across Catalunya for a La Liga meeting with Espanyol.
The aforementioned Szczęsny featured from the off in the fixture, and shone on his way to another clean sheet, in a 2-0 triumph.
As much confirmed Barca’s status as Spanish champions for 2024/25, adding to the club’s season haul of the Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.
Safe to say, then, that shot-stopper Szczęsny’s stint as a Blaugrana player has proven to be a successful one to date.
And yet, if the latest comments on the part of the former Arsenal and Juventus man are anything to go by, then he is yet to decide whether to stay put for next season or not.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at RCDE Stadium on Thursday, Szczęsny was asked if he intends to accept the contract renewal put before him by the Camp Nou brass.
And the 35-year-old went on to admit:
“If I accept a contract renewal, I’m sure that I would be the substitute goalkeeper next season. I’m yet to decide, because this is a new situation for me.”
