FC Barcelona continue to prepare for the Chelsea game in the Champions League. A trip to Stamford Bridge is likely to evoke old memories, and Hansi Flick’s team will want to ensure they take three points and improve their standing in the UCL league phase.
Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, in particular, will be keen to put on a show in England after missing the previous trip to St James’ Park earlier this season. The Spaniard will know there is no better place to showcase his level than London.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the teenage sensation also has a chance to equal a record held by Kylian Mbappe, provided he scores a hat-trick against the Blues. The Real Madrid star is the only player to score 10 Champions League goals before turning 19.
Lamine Yamal currently has seven goals and has enough time to break the record, considering he does not turn 19 until next summer, but to do so by scoring a hat-trick against Chelsea in England would be a massive statement.
The Spaniard will be coming up against his national teammate and former La Masia graduate, Marc Cucurella, who has a reputation for tying up top wingers around the world, such as Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.
Lamine, however, is a very different proposition. Enzo Maresca and the entire Chelsea defence will be wary of what he brings to the table. The Spaniard thrives on big moments, and we will have to wait and see whether he has a special performance in store at Stamford Bridge.
