Barcelona star Eric García has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for an up-and-coming Blaugrana teammate
The player in question? Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández. Youngster Dro of course made waves across the Barcelona fanbase earlier this summer.
As much came after the 17-year-old, a relative unknown at the time, was afforded the chance to impress in Hansi Flick’s senior squad for pre-season.
And this is an opportunity which Dro went on to take full advantage of, lighting up several friendly fixtures courtesy of flawless touch, quick feet, and an eye for goal.
Such talents have given rise to suggestions that the Spaniard could be the next in line to emerge as a first-team star in Barcelona.
And as alluded to above, one individual who could not help but be impressed by Dro’s endeavours over the summer is teammate Eric García.
Speaking during an interview with Jijantes this week, defender Eric was asked to name the Blaugrana youngster who has impressed him most of late.
And the former Manchester City man went on to explain:
“[Pedro Fernandez ]Dro is the one who has surprised me the most, given his age, born in 2008, he does things that are difficult to believe. He has that thing where the ball slips away from him a little, he sticks his leg out and gets there.”
