Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has turned down the chance to seal a departure from the club during the upcoming winter transfer window.
That’s according to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who has revealed that the Pole was the recipient of recent contact on the part of Fenerbahçe.
On the lookout for reinforcements up top with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign, the Fener brass are understood to have touched base with Lewandowski and his entourage, over the terms of a potential move.
The 37-year-old, however, made clear that he has no intention of departing Barcelona mid-season.
It is added that, as things stand, Lewandowski’s future in Catalunya’s capital remains completely up in the air.
This comes with the veteran goalscorer, in the midst of another productive campaign to date, set to see his contract terms expire in the summer of 2026.
Though the expectation is that he will be allowed to depart as a free agent, no final call has yet been made by Deco and co.
