A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona reported to the club’s training ground on Tuesday, despite having been afforded a day off.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Ronald Araújo as the player in question.
Stopper Araújo is of course working hard to reestablish himself at the heart of Barcelona’s backline at present.
After taking time away from the game to work on his mental health, the Uruguayan finds himself sitting behind the likes of Pau Cubarsí and Eric García in the pecking order in Hansi Flick’s squad.
As alluded to above, though, the one-time Blaugrana stalwart appears fully determined to prove himself to the coaching staff in Catalunya’s capital once more.
As per a report from MD:
‘He went to the Ciutat Esportiva today, despite the first team having a day off, to continue working and improving his fitness.’
Araújo’s next chance to impress on the pitch could come this weekend, when Barcelona return to La Liga action, in a meeting with Villarreal.
