Barcelona star responds to Real Madrid’s busy summer | OneFootball

Barcelona star Joan García was on Sunday asked for his thoughts on the active summer transfer window being enjoyed by arch rivals Real Madrid.

Business in the Spanish capital has of course dominated the media headlines throughout much of Europe across the summer to date. Following the appointment of José Mourinho, Real Madrid have landed all of Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Carlos Espí.

Florentino Pérez and co. are far from finished there, either, with both Rodri and Yan Diomandé also expected to arrive at Valdebebas before the window is out.

This squad rejuvenation at the Bernabéu comes after Los Blancos were dominated by their most bitter rivals, Barcelona, in each of the last two seasons.

Speaking during an interview with Diario Sport this weekend, the aforementioned Joan García was therefore drawn on the efforts of the Real Madrid brass to close the gap on he and his teammates.

Specifically asked for a message to the Barcelona faithful regarding Los Merengues’ signings, shot-stopper Joan responded:

“I’d tell them to focus on us. Maybe we haven’t signed as many players, but I really like the ones we’ve brought in. I think Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi will contribute a lot. They’re exactly the type of players we needed to give us something extra, and I’m convinced they’ll make us stronger.”
