La Liga champions Barcelona will be forced to make do without the services of Pedri in the club’s next outing.

This comes after he was shown a red card against Real Madrid.

Pedri was for his part in from the off this evening, as Barcelona made the trip to Spain’s capital for the season’s first edition of El Clásico.

En route to an eventual 2-1 defeat for the Blaugrana, however, the 22-year-old was dismissed late on.

After over-running the ball, Pedri lunged forward in an attempt to reclaim possession. This culminated in a clumsy challenge on Aurélien Tchouaméni, which left the latter grounded and in pain.

Referee Cesar Soto Grado, in turn, showed little hesitation in producing a 2nd yellow card.

Pedri will now be unavailable through suspension for Barcelona’s next fixture.

The reigning Spanish champions are primed to return to action next weekend, in a La Liga meeting with newly-promoted Elche.
