Barcelona star sends message to Hansi Flick after starring performance vs Levante | OneFootball

Barcelona star Ferran Torres has this weekend sent something of a message the way of manager Hansi Flick.

This comes after the Spanish international continued his fine individual start to the new campaign.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Saturday evening, making the trip to Valencia for a La Liga meeting with Levante.

When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, the Blaugrana recovered from two goals down, to emerge on the right side of a 3-2 result.

And the aforementioned Ferran Torres played a key role in as much.

Afforded his latest starting berth after finding the net on opening weekend against Mallorca, the former Manchester City man followed up with another goal to level the score at 2-2.

With Robert Lewandowski now back fit and firing, Ferran’s place is nevertheless set to come under threat over the weeks ahead, though.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the Estadi Ciutat de València, the 25-year-old therefore made use of the opportunity to reiterate his belief that he is capable of acting as a starter for Barcelona this season:

“I’ve always believed I can be important in this team. I see myself capable of being a starter, and whenever the manager sees fit, I have to take advantage of it. The competition is very high, but it’s good.”
