Barcelona star still absent from training before Elche | OneFootball

Barcelona star Andreas Christensen remains a notable absentee from group training ahead of the club’s upcoming meeting with Elche.

Stopper Christensen has for his part been forced into a fresh spell on the sidelines over the last week.

After the Dane was not called up for Barcelona’s defeat at the hands of arch rivals Real Madrid in last weekend’s Clásico, the assumption was that as much came with Christensen having still not recovered from a prior bout of illness.

It was subsequently confirmed, however, that the former Chelsea man was in fact dealing with a calf complaint.

And as alluded to above, just two days out from the Blaugrana’s return to action, Christensen is yet to recover.

As per a report from journalist Alex Pintanel, the 29-year-old was absent from group activities at the Ciutat Esportiva once more on Friday morning.

The expectation, in turn, is that he will not be called up to face Elche on Sunday.
