Barcelona star to be offered new contract before departing on loan | OneFootball

A transfer-linked member of the attacking ranks is expected to be afforded a one-year contract extension, before departing on loan this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Cadena SER, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.

The name of wide-man Ansu has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent days.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the stalled talks between Barcelona and AS Monaco over a deal for the 22-year-old had been unlocked.

Ansu, in turn, looks set to spend the 2025/26 campaign plying his trade at the Stade Louis II.

As alluded to above, though, prior to departing, the Spaniard is expected to extend his contract terms with Barca.

In a bid to assure that Ansu does not return to the club with just a year remaining on his deal next summer, Deco and co. are ready to offer the attacker a one-year extension, through 2028.
