La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday evening been dealt a 2nd blow on the personnel front.
This comes owing to developments in the club’s latest outing.
Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán for a La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
When all was said and done in an entertaining affair, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of the result, triumphing by four goals to one.
As alluded to above, though, on an otherwise positive evening’s work, Hansi Flick and co. were also dealt a pair of blows on the personnel front.
The first came early on, when Ronald Araújo limped out of the action with an ankle injury.
Then, during the 2nd-half, Fermín López was given his marching orders, for a straight red card offence.
After initially being shown a yellow card for a sliding challenge in midfield, an ensuing VAR check saw Fermín’s punishment upgraded to a red.
The 21-year-old is therefore facing up to an incoming suspension, beginning with Barcelona’s home meeting with Rayo Vallecano on February 17th.
