Barcelona star to return to squad for Copa del Rey final | OneFootball

A headline member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to return to matchday duties this coming weekend.

That’s according to Cadena SER, who point towards Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.

The name of goalkeeper Ter Stegen has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.

This comes after the German, sidelined since early in the campaign owing to a serious knee injury, was given the green light to return to group training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.

And as alluded to above, as much could well culminate in Ter Stegen’s return to competitive duties against Real Madrid this weekend.

As per a report from Cadena SER’s Què T’hi Jugues:

‘Ter Stegen, for the final! The Barça staff’s forecast is that the German will receive the medical clearance to travel to Seville this Friday for the Cup final. The German already feels ready to return and Flick will have to manage it.’
